AllRight for Windows is a data interchange and magnetic tape handling software that allows you to exchange data with a variety of other systems and formats. AllRight is available for different Windows platforms including Win 3.x, Win 9x/NT, as well as a DOS version.


AllRight for Windows 3.X

AllRight for Windows is magnetic tape handling software that allows you to reliably expand the data storage and interchange power of your PC. AllRight software is comprised of three components:

  • Backup and restore module
  • Data interchange module
  • Application programming interface for custom Windows programming with full DDE support.

Add the AllRight for Windows software to your PC and you have a universal interface for data backup, archiving and file transfer. AllRight for Windows has incorporated the options and features to dependably meet your requirements today and in the future.

Lets you backup and exchange data with other systems with similar tape devices. Developed from our industry-leading AllRight for DOS, AllRight for Windows supports all Pertec compatible NineTrack tape drives, with the appropriate Pertec controller board, as well as most SCSI tape drives, with WINASPI compatible PC host adapters. NineTrack densities supported are 800, 1600, 3200, 6250 bpi. Cartridge drives supported are 1/4 inch, 4mm (DAT), 8mm, DLT, 3480/3490 (IDRC), and 3490E (36 Track).

Provides complete Windows 3.1 support. Taking full advantage of Windows 3.1, AllRight for Windows gives you a complete set of productivity tools and is easy to install, configure and use.

AllRight for Windows takes full advantage of Windows 3.1 protected mode and memory management, Program Manager, TrueType fonts, and graphical user interface. This makes AllRight for Windows simple to learn and use.

In addition, support for Windows Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) lets you link AllRight with other custom applications to exchange information.

Backup Features

  • Backup and restore entire disks or a subset of files.
  • Specify file subsets by DOS wild card or by creating multiple backup SET's containing names of the files to be backed up or restored.
  • Conduct incremental backups - backup only the files which have been modified since the last full backup.
  • Backup the hidden files on your disk.
  • Restore information to a different disk or subdirectory from the information's origin.
  • Backup an unlimited amount of data in a single backup operation.
  • Backup files, directories, and subdirectories with the ease of a point and a click.

Data Exchange Features

  • Copy data from disk to tape and tape to disk.
  • Convert between ASCII and EBCDIC character sets.
  • Create your own conversion tables for foreign character sets or special requirements.
  • Insert or remove carriage-return and/or linefeed delimiters.
  • Specify record and blocking factor, whether fixed or variable-length records.
  • Variable-length records can be written to or read from tape in either ANSI or IBM standards.
  • Append data to existing tapes.
  • Position to a specific location prior to tape operation.
  • View information on the tape whether it is ASCII, EBCDIC, or Binary without dumping information to disk.
  • Create exact copies of tapes from a SCSI tape drive directly to another SCSI tape drive without writing anything to disk.
  • Link AllRight with other custom applications
  • Take data direct from tape right into the application requiring the data.

With AllRight for 32-Bit Windows in the Windows NT operating system running NTFS-includes reading and writing files over 2GB
