Details
NetWorker Module for Microsoft Exchange Server in tandem with NetWorker is a complete software solution designed to protect Microsoft Exchange servers online. Automated Exchange protection is achieved using NetWorker’s backup scheduling, autochanger support, tape cloning, and advanced media handling including library and dynamic drive sharing. NetWorker uses parallelism and interleaving to protect data fast and allows administrators to perform backups locally or “over-the-wire” to a central tape library. NetWorker’s graphical user interface (GUI) provides a flexible, easy-to-use facility for configuring, monitoring, and centrally managing backup operations from any system on the network. These combined features simplify, centralize and automate management of Exchange backup and recovery operations, thus reducing overhead and total cost of ownership.
Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server allows administrators to organize their users in up to four storage groups – each with multiple databases. The NetWorker Module for Microsoft Exchange Server allows administrators to back up these storage groups in parallel – providing dramatically improved performance in environments with suitable hardware configurations. The module also supports Microsoft Cluster Services to provide maximum server failover and availability of Exchange data. Backups of virtual servers are indexed by the virtual server name.
System Administrators have the flexibility to schedule backups of individual mailboxes. Mailboxes can also be manually backed up through the NetWorker User for Exchange GUI or at the command line. Should a message be lost, it can be recovered individually, speeding recovery and minimizing costly downtime.
