All DataFilerNAS models uses a powerful Intel processor coupled together with a mininum of 256MB (or 512MB) of memory cache and a minimum Dual 10/100 Ethernet connections with load balancing and fail-over to maximize file-sharing and insure continuous productivity. All DataFilerNAS offer a number of advanced features normally only found on high-end NAS filer devices costing an order of magniture more.

We offer 3 models of DataFilerNAS:

• The entry-level DataFilerNAS LE comes standard in a compact 1U rackmount unit and a maximum of 4-drives.
• The DataFilerNAS STD our mid-range model which comes in a wide variety of enclosures and provides a maximum of 8-drives.
• The DataFilerNAS XP which is the more powerful version of the DataFilerNAS and offers Intel Pentium III performance with a 512KB L2 cache and Dual Gigabit Ethernet with load balancing and fail-over to maximize file-sharing and insure continuous productivity.

Advanced Features & Benefits

• Dynamic online expansion of RAID volumes:
  You can start with a few disk drives and expand dynamically "on-the-fly". Simply add extra drives, and the RAID volume grows without the need to rebuild your RAID, without having to reconfigure the whole array, etc... For example, add one 250Gb disk to your 750Gb RAID5 array, and your RAID volume automatically "expands" to 1TB (1000Gb). Saves you an incredible amount of time when expanding your NAS RAID and removes the potential pitfalls associated with a typical RAID set expansion.
• Built-in Dual NIC’s with Load-Balancing and Fault Tolerance capabilities:
  Each DataFilerNAS comes standard with 2 network interfaces - either 10/100BT or 10/100/1000 Gigabit. And both NIC offer load-balancing capabilities which is ideal to 'spread the load' onto multiple network interfaces. The 2 NICs also provide fault tolerance so that if one NIC were to fail, the other would continue working.

  DataFilerNAS 1U

• SyncSmart file replication and data synchronization between DataFilerNAS boxes:
  At no extra charge, you can replicate data from one DataFilerNAS to another DataFilerNAS. Great solution to send your critical data to a remote DataFilerNAS, to synchronize data from one DataFilerNAS at Head-office to different DataFilerNAS in remote offices, to 'backup' data from multiple DataFilerNAS offices to one location, etc... Ideal for Disaster Recovery. And at no extra charge.
• Uses a high-performance dedicated hardware RAID controllers to process RAID I/O:
  Unlike many NAS systems on the market that use software-RAID, even our entry level DataFilerNAS LE model comes with hardware RAID controller. Provides you with better performance and more reliability since all RAID I/O are handled via a separate controller.
• Data archiving to CD/DVD-RW or Tape Backup:
  Gives you the ability to write data directly to a local CD/DVD/tape-drive without having to add add'l external components.

Data Backup and Remote Recovery:

• The DataFilerNAS STD and DataFilerNAS LE can also be equipped with an optional locally attached IDE tape drive. Support is included for ATA tape drives.

  DataFilerNAS 4U

• The DataFilerNAS XP can also be equipped with an optional locally attached SCSI or IDE tape drive. Support is included for popular SCSI tape drives such as AIT, DAT, DDS, DLT, LTO and SDLT.
• Remote "over-the-wire" backup is done using compatible agents such as Veritas Backup Exec, CA ARCserve, Microsoft Backup, Legato Networker and BakBone NetVault.
• The DataFilerNAS also incorporates a unique feature that allows archiving file data to either CD-RW or DVD-RW discs for quick backups.

Data Security and Antivirus Protection

Each DataFilerNAS XP offers a journaling file system and hardware RAID protection. Files can be mirrored in RAID 1 or set up using RAID 5 with global spare options. The DataFilerNAS can handle up to four RAID sets concurrently and supports drive roaming and dynamic "on-the-fly" expansion of RAID 5 volumes.

The DataFilerNAS XP has integrated into the firmware anti-virus protection from Trend Micro, allowing the administrator to choose from four protection methods: 1) Real-time scan files as they are stored and retrieved on DataFilerNAS, 2) At scheduled intervals, 3) Manually initiated by administrator, 4) Disabled. Virus pattern updates occur automatically on a customizable scheduled basis and are included free of charge with DataFilerNAS XP.
