Direct Network Attach Support in CD/DVD Server

direct network attach

All Legacy CD Servers can be directly connected to an Ethernet (10/100mbit) or Token Ring Network (4/16mbit). Multiple benefits can be achieved by this approach including:

1) Data requests/transfers bypasses the File Server(s) resulting in superior performance compared to solutions where the the NAS Optical Server or CD/DVD System were connected to a File Server via SCSI.

2) No additional hardware is required when directly attaching to the network because the Legacy CD/DVD System is a Intelligent I/O Server and not an un-intelligent SCSI Device.

3) Installing a new Legacy CD/DVD Server to the network does not require any server/workstation downtimes.

4) Because multiple protocols have been programmed into the Legacy CD/DVD Server, including those for NT, Netware, NDS, OS/2, Unix and MAC, therefore, no additional device drivers are required either.

5) With integrate support for IP and HTTP, management of the system does not require additional monitors, keyboard or mouse. Simply access the CD/DVD Server's assigned IP address from any workstation/server on the LAN/WAN with the appropriate access permission.
