Since being introduced as the world's first automated DLTtape library, over one thousand 2640 Series libraries have answered the call for a storage system with the extraordinary scalability needed to provide massive capacity and performance. Network Magazine's 1998 Product of the Year, the reliable 2640 continues to deliver on its promise of fast and continuous backup and restore.
162 GIGABYTES PER HOUR PERFORMANCE OR 9.24 TERABYTE CAPACITY
With up to 9 DLTtape drives or 264 DLTtape cartridges, a single 2640 module can backup and restore 162 gigabytes per hour and store 9.24 terabytes of data. Up to five 2640 modules can be configured with up to 45 DLTtape drives or 1,320 cartridges providing superior native backup performance of 810 gigabytes per hour or massive native capacity of 46.2 terabytes.
ABSOLUTE RELIABILITY WITH INTELLIGRIP INSIDE
The key to the 2640's reliability is IntelliGrip, ATL's precision cartridge handling system. IntelliGrip utilizes precision timing and a highly exact amount of force to insert and remove DLTtape cartridges in a manner that reduces drive stress and minimizes surface contact to increase overall library reliability.
THE DLTtape STANDARD AMONG ISVS
ATL libraries are the most widely supported automated DLTtape libraries available. They are fully compatible with major hardware platforms, including IBM, HP, DEC, SUN and Silicon Graphics, and are supported by nearly 40 popular data management software applications.
LIBRARY ENHANCEMENTS
WebAdmin from ATL is the first software package allowing remote library administration using a Java-enabled browser. WebAdmin provides system administrators the freedom to access their automated tape libraries from anywhere on the World Wide Web. From a friendly graphical user interface, system administrators and operators can perform a full suite of administration functions, including library configuration, monitoring, event logging and event notification.
