For applications requiring non-stop backup and restore, the 520 Series from ATL is the industry's most reliable DLTtape™ library. The 520 Series has achieved a mean-swap-between-failure rating of 2,000,000 - twice the reliability of competitive products.

72 GIGABYTES PER HOUR PERFORMANCE AND 1.8 TERABYTE CAPACITY
With up to 4 DLTtape drives and 52 DLTtape cartridges, the 520 can backup and restore 72 gigabytes per hour and store 1.8 terabytes of data. With 2:1 compression, the 520 can transfer data at 144 gigabytes per hour and store up to 3.6 terabytes of information.

ABSOLUTE RELIABILITY WITH INTELLIGRIP INSIDE
The key to the 520's reliability is IntelliGrip™, ATL's precision cartridge handling system. The finely tuned gripper system selects DLTtape™ cartridges from top and bottom, reducing cartridge pressure and increasing cartridge life. IntelliGrip utilizes precision timing and a highly exact amount of force to insert and remove DLTtape cartridges in a manner that reduces drive stress and minimizes surface contact to increase overall library reliability. The 520's welded unibody frame prevents robotics misalignment from shock and vibration and self-calibration can be easily initiated without the need for manual alignment.

THE DLTTAPE STANDARD AMONG ISVS
ATL libraries are the most widely supported automated DLTtape libraries available. They are fully compatible with major hardware platforms, such as IBM, HP, DEC, SUN and Silicon Graphics, and are supported by nearly 40 popular data management software applications.

LIBRARY ENHANCEMENTS
WebAdmin™ from ATL is the first software package allowing remote library administration using a Java™-enabled browser. WebAdmin provides system administrators the freedom to access their automated tape libraries from anywhere on the World Wide Web. From a friendly graphical user interface, system administrators and operators can perform a full suite of administration functions, including library configuration, monitoring, event logging and event notification.

The PL50 Library Hub permits UNIX and NT backup servers to share a single 520 library by partitioning a 520 into as many as three "virtual libraries." Available as a turnkey system, the PL50 eliminates network backup bottlenecks by supporting high-speed SCSI connections from each backup server to library drives.
