Quantum DLTtape™
The Quantum DLTtape™ family of half-inch cartridges, approved for use in all DLT tape drives and autoloaders, delivers the highest capacity of any cartridge used in a 5.25-inch tape drive - up to 40* gigabytes (GB) or 80* (GB) in compressed mode. To ensure accuracy, a patented tape leader ensures consistent tape motion, while a unique tape/reel locking mechanism prevents tape slack.
The tape itself features a special high-grade metal particle (MP) formula
that reduces tape and head wear. The result is tape that delivers a proven one million passes with a negligible impact on soft error rates and a 30-year archival life.

**When utilizing Quantum DLTtape III or DLTtape III XT in a DLT 7000 drive,
the native transfer rate performance will be 1.5mb/sec. instead of 5.0mb/sec. Only the Quantum DLTtape IV provides 5.0mb/sec. transfer
rates in a DLT 7000 drive.
*** Only the Quantum DLTtape IV provides 6.0mb/sec. transfer rates in a DLT
8000 drive.
