Cable Management System

Cable Management System  provides total control over the cabling infrastructure, by integrating :

    • both logical and physical views of the facilities
    • the management of all cabling components, passive (cable, patch panels, connecting blocks, patch cords, outlets) and active (hubs, routers, etc...).
    • the automation of maintenance tasks : work orders management, automated connectivity, etc...

Cable Management System is compatible with the ANSI/TIA/EIA standard for Commercial Building Telecommunication Wiring, and the TIA/EAI-606 Documentation Standard for Telecommunications Networks..

Cable Management System  Documents your Cabling infrastructure

Cable Management System materializes all the system components from a graphical library (telephone switches and computer servers, patch panels, cross-connects, cables, patch cords, outlets, phones and computers, etc.). It displays all the network(telephone, LAN, fire alarm, etc.) on both a geographical and a hierarchical structure. The library contains the description of all the common cabling equipment, and it can be extended by the user to integrate specific components.

The description of the connections allows the creation of the cabling devices and cables as well as the automatic or manual allocation and validation of the wire pairs. This creates an entire data path between the users' terminal equipment (telephone set, computer, etc.) and the telephone switches and computers servers. Cable Management System not only provides a description of the cabling system; it can also associate every wiring with a specific network and/or a specific application.

Most operations can be performed with advanced functions such as "drag-and-drop" techniques.

All Moves, Adds and Changes can generate Work-Orders automatically

Whether it is for simple modifications (when a user moves), or for complex extension or re-wiring projects, Cable Management System simplifies the whole Move, Add and Change process:

    • The cabling administrator performs the changes and ETEC automatically records all the individual steps and produces Work Orders accordingly. ETEC notifies any system users of the existence of "Open Work-Orders" on each affected record.
    • The cabling technician or contractor uses this printed work-order description document to perform all requested Moves, Adds and Changes in the field.
    • When the operation is complete, the Work Order is completed and is stored in the Work Order Archive, serving as a historical record of all activity.

Simplify the administration of your cabling system

Cable Management System automatically calculates the load of the cabling system and spare capacity at any point of the network.

With its complete physical network management capabilities, Cable Management System constitutes an invaluable tool for problem resolution and asset management.

In particular, the Cable Management System description capabilities extend all the way down to the end-users. Each of them is associated with the outlets they use, as well as with a description of their equipment (telephone set, computer, etc.).

Cable Management System uses your CAD files and imports/export data to text files or to other formats. Its open database design also enables third party applications to access its database.

Management operations are performed through various cabling system components. These various cabling components are part of Cable Management System's Components Library and can be changed by the user.
