Overview

UDSS stands for Universal Data Storage System and is the most comprehensive NAS, SCSI & SAN Storage Subsystem available today. The system is designed for use in the most mission-critical fail-safe environments, but flexible enough to provide a complete spectrum of solutions. This fully featured subsystem is the result of Legacy’s 2 decades of data storage experience. Each feature, both form and function, relate to multiple short and long term benefits. The following is a list of features, functions, and benefits.

The Chassis was designed to accommodate multiple devices of varying types. One system is both a standalone tower or a standard 19-inch rack-mount unit. The ventilation and inner rack construction were designed to house multiple high performance disks, controlling ambient temperature and vibration that can result from drives with higher RPM ratings. Each system has a unique power system that provides consistent power to all functional devices and internal electronics. There are two Hot Swappable Redundant Power Sharing Power Supplies, each capable of supporting the system independently in the event of failure.

Ultimate in Scalability!

Start with as few as 9 Drive Bays and expand as needed by cascading additional 12 Drive Bay Expansion Chassis(s). Each expansion chassis provides redundant hot swap power sharing power supplies, redundant hot swap fans and 12 hot swap drive bays. All RAID functions are controlled by the Hot Swap Raid Controller(s) in the main chassis.
