Data and Storage Management Hardware

Data Encryption

Unylogix offers data encryption solutions for protecting your critical data - we have solutions for both tape encryption and for disk encryption. Our solutions are hardware units designed to encrypt and decrypt data "on the fly" between a host server system and its storage media (whether tape drive or disk drive).

We classify our Data Encryption solutions in 2 categories:

NAS (Network Attached Storage)

Unylogix carries various intelligent hardware devices that connect directly to your network without having to be connected to a specific server. This technology is called Network Attached Storage (NAS) and improves the flexibility of your network architecture. It also provides many advantages such as improved performance, better reliability, lower-cost of ownership, the ability to consolidate data and simplify data management as well as an easier way to scale your data storage requirements.
See the Overview and General Summary of all our Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions.

We classify our NAS solutions in 4 categories:

  • NAS solutions for small environments (up to 1 TB)
Based on IDE drives with either preset (fixed) configurations or expandable models.
  • NAS solutions for mid size environments (more than 1 TB)
Based on IDE drives with either preset (fixed) configurations or expandable models which can grow to Terabytes capacity.
  • NAS solutions with Enterprise features
Based on either IDE or SCSI drives, some with preset (fixed) configurations but most models are configurable and expandable to multi-Terabytes capacity. Includes Novell NDS compatible NAS appliances.
  • Mixed NAS Devices
Includes devices that perform multi-functions such as file-server, CD/DVD, MO (Magneto Optical)... functions.

RAID & SAN

A RAID (Redundant Array of Independant Disks) is, as its name suggests, an array of IDE or SCSI hard disks on which the data is stored redundantly. The data is distributed in a way that if a disk fails, absolutely no data is lost; every byte still resides on another drive. Unylogix offers various kinds of RAID systems.

We classify our RAID solutions in 3 categories:

  • Workgroup, Departmental, Small Enterprise RAID (up to 3 TB)
With sizes ranging from 54 GB up to 3 TB, these units are ideal as a Workgroup RAID array or Departmental RAID within a large organization, or as a main RAID system for a small enterprise.
  • Mid-size enterprise RAID (up to 10 TB)
With sizes ranging up to 10 TB per cabinet, these RAID units provide additionnal features and performance suitable for mid-range enterprise or for larger departmental requirements.
  • Large enterprise RAID (up to nearly 150 TB)
Large enterprise RAID solutions provide the ultimate in terms of redundancy, growth, scalability and performance as well as offering a host of other advanced options.
